Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar through his pop-folk songs based on folk, with a lot of them being set in Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in the love of Colorado and later relocated to Aspen. Denver's anthems for his adopted state has drawn a lot of people to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame, stated: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado like John Denver." Denver was the Hall of Fame's initial inductee, was honoured with this honor in 2011. He has become the personification of the state to many people across the globe. On my trips I've had the pleasure of meeting individuals from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform people you're from Colorado, the first words they'll say is Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo performer after a brief time in small folk groups. Danoff initially wrote the song with Johnny Cash's music with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver realized from the first time he heard the early versions that the song would be a big popular. The track was released just two weeks following it was performed in Washington D.C. performance.
