Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in TV and film is well known for movies like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. The actress was born as the sole child of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. At the age of 16 she portrayed the lead character in various TV dramas. In the Oscar-nominated film Downfall, her role as the Secretary Traudljunge of Adolf Hitler was also a critically-acclaimed one. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra has been involved in numerous important international and national projects through the years. A few of them include the British biographical documentary Control, the Greek movie The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon. She also served in the jury panel of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
